POPLAR BLUFF -- Roger Tolliver, CEO of Commerce Bank in Poplar Bluff, recently announced that the bank has changed its name to Commerce Bank of Southeast Missouri, reflecting the new regional aspect of the bank.
The bank has two locations in Poplar Bluff, one in Qulin and a new location in Cape Girardeau at 160 South Broadview.
"The name change is representative of the growth of Commerce Bank as a whole and especially in the Southeast Missouri area," Tolliver said.
Tolliver, who will continue as CEO of the bank, will be headquartered in Poplar Bluff. Cord Polen, formerly senior vice president of Commerce Bank of Poplar Bluff, has been named community bank president of the Cape Girardeau location.
"With the addition of the Cape Girardeau location, we are in a position to better serve the Southeast Missouri area and establish a regional presence here," Polen said.
Commerce Bank assumed the insured deposits of the former Exchange Bank of Cape Girardeau from the FDIC after the bank was closed May 7 by the director of finance for the state of Missouri.
Commerce Bank of Southeast Missouri is an affiliate of Commerce Bancshares, Inc., a regional bank holding company with more than 125 locations and assets over $6.7 billion.
