STE. GENEVIEVE The historic town of Ste. Genevieve will hold an air balloon exhibition, called "Voyage de Ste. Genevieve" to commemorate the first manned ascent of a "lighter-than-air machine" over Paris in 1783.
The exhibition will take off at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Pierre Marquette City Park soccer field on North Main Street. Maning the balloon will be John Esserman, former Balloon Federation national points champion and member of the U.S. team in the World Hot Air Balloon Championships.
Guided tours of historic downtown Ste. Genevieve will be offered at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday beginning at the Great River Roads Interpretive Center, 66 North Main.
