Benjamin Baker of Jackson has earned three scholarships to attend the University of Missouri-Rolla.
Baker earned a Curators Scholarship, valued at $3,500. The scholarship is given to students graduating in the top 5 percent of their senior class or with an ACT score over 28. It is renewable.
He earned a Bright Flight Scholarship, valued at $2,000, from Missouri. The scholarship is designed to lure top high-school students to attend Missouri colleges and universities.
He received the John H. Mathis Memorial Scholarship from Lone Star, valued at $2,000. The scholarship is given to a student whose parent is employed at Lone Star. Baker was selected from 200 applicants.
He also received a $500 Recognition Award from Rolla.
Baker plans to major in chemical engineering. He is the son of Richard and Judy Baker of Jackson.
