McAlpine-Youngstown Awning and Window Co. opened recently at 67 Plaza Way in Cape Girardeau.

"We provide thermal replacement windows, aluminum and canvas awnings, and patio covers," said David Atkins, who opened a branch operation from the St. Louis-based company.

McAlpine-Youngstown was founded in St. Louis more than 47 years ago.

"The firm only recently decided to offer branch outlets," said Atkins, who has lived in the Cape Girardeau area since 1976. "I've been in building/contracting business several years and saw this as a great opportunity."

The company also offers storm windows and storm doors, and carport covers.

He added that the firm would also screen in porches.

"If your have a covered porch, we'll screen it for you," he said.
