John Heuer of Heuer Sons Implement Co., 533 Morgan Oak, Cape Girardeau, has won a free trip to Palm Springs, Calif., from AGCO Corp., parent company of White Tractor.
Heuer Sons was one of AGCO's top performers in farm equipment and parts sales in 1992, rating fifth in the nation among more than 550 White dealers in the U.S. The company's products include tractors in the 40- to 200-horsepower range, combines and other farm implements.

Dr. Willy Burgdorfer, the discoverer of the bacterium that causes Lyme disease, and Dr. Ed Masters were lecturers during a regional medical conference held at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., recently.
New information for doctors was presented and discussed, including finding of additional ticks and animals infected with borrelia burgdorferi in this area.
Masters, a Cape Girardeau physician, and Burgdorfer will be speakers during the upcoming sixth annual National Lyme Disease Scientific Conference, to be held in Atlantic City, N.J., Wednesday and Thursday.

T. Ronald Hahs has been named "Missouri Life Underwriter of the Year."
Hahs, the local district agent of Northwestern Mutual Life, received his award during the annual convention of the Missouri Association of Life Underwriters last weekend at Springfield.
Hahs has been in the life insurance industry 29 years. He has taught "Principles of Insurance" at Southeast Missouri State University 18 years.

More than 1,700 delegates from throughout North America attended the four-day meeting. More than 50 travel and tour-oriented seminars were held during the four-day session.
