Dr. B.L. Ogborn recently completed a workshop demonstrating the use of the HGM Krypton Laser. He also toured the HGM manufacturing plant in Salt Lake City.
The laser is designed to remove facial skin lesions and to perform oral surgical procedures.
Ogborn has practiced oral and maxillofacial surgery in Doctors' Park since 1970. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons.

Dr. Zenon Duda and his staff recently attended the fifth annual St. Louis Podiatry Seminar, where Duda moderated sessions dealing with perioperative management of the surgical patient and traumatic injuries of the foot and ankle.
Brenda Bender, Duda's office manager, and Linda Baker, an assistant, attended the blood-born pathogens instruction course required by OSHA.
Duda has been in private practice for 12 years and has satellite clinics at Perry County Memorial Hospital and Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center. He is on the podiatric medical staffs of Perry County Hospital, Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center and Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis.
He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and is a member of the Missouri Podiatric Medical Association and American Podiatric Medical Association.

Sandy Howard of the ladies department at Howard's Sporting Goods attended the fall '93 market at Apparel Mart in Dallas.
Howard, whose store caters to sportswear customers, said the "outdoorsy, `Northern Exposure'" style will be popular again this fall. She said denim and khaki will be used extensively in a variety of colors.
Howard said the store will be adding new lines of sweaters for the upcoming season. Fashions from the market will be available in mid to late summer.

Dr. Robert W. Ruess, cardiothoracic surgery, has completed requirements for recertification in the specialty of thoracic surgery. The specialty board certifies physicians who have received training in surgery of the heart, lungs, and major blood vessels.
Ruess received his medi cal degree from the University of California-Irvine. After completing residencies in general surgery at Huntingon Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Calif., and the University of Iowa, Reuss completed a residency in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at Charlotte Memorial Hospital in Charlotte, N.C.
Ruess, along with Dr. J. Darryl Ramsey, cardiothoracic surgery, started Cape Girardeau's first heart surgery program at Southeast Missouri Hospital in 1984.

Dr. James Chapman, a Cape Girardeau cardiologist, was in St. Louis recently to instruct an advanced training course for physicians in the use of directional coronary atherectomy. More than 50 physicians with atherectomy experience from throughout the Midwest attended the daylong session.
The course was sponsored by Devices for Vascular Intervention, and was held at the Marriott Hotel West.
Serving on the faculty with Chapman was Dr. Michael Cowley, a cardiologist with the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.
Chapman has been performing directional coronary atherectomy in Cape Girardeau since 1990. In addition he has assisted St. Joseph Hospital in Denver with implementation of its directional coronary atherectomy program. He has also previously given atherectomy training courses in Dallas and St. Louis.
Chapman is associated with Cardiovascular Consultants of Cape Girardeau. He is a member of the medical staffs of St. Francis Medical Center and Southeast Missouri Hospital.
