This is the sixth year the Cobble award has been presented to a graduating Southeast nurse. It signifies that the student has met or exceeded the school's standards in enthusiasm, dependability, respect for themselves and others, competence, compassion, motivation and commitment.

Tonya Buttry, College of Nursing chairperson, presented the award and said Grief "demonstrated true commitment to the welfare of others."

Other awards were presented to:

Tracy Astin of Anna, Ill., the Medical-Surgical Nursing Award; Stephanie Hammonds of Sikeston, the Patient Advocate Award; Angela Williams of Sikeston, the Pediatric Nursing Award; Todd Alexander of Cape Girardeau, Outstanding Maternity Nursing Award; Brenda Crawford of Puxico, the Mental Health Nursing Award; Rebekah Thornsberry of Cape Girardeau, the Patient Care Management Award; and Patsie Parks of Morley, highest grade point average in the class.
