AUTO TIRE EXPANDS TO POPLAR BLUFF

Auto Tire & Parts, headquartered in Cape Girardeau, recently opened a new facility in Poplar Bluff.

The new store in Valley Plaza Shopping Center contains more than 9,000 square feet.

Larry Keating has been named manager of the store.

"We're proud to be a part of the Poplar Bluff community," said John Tlapek, president of the firm. "The area fits into our distribution system. We feel we're equipped to handle the many auto repair shops, dealers, do-it-yourself mechanics and agriculture customers that the area supports."

In addition to a complete line of automotive, truck and tractor parts and machine shop capabilities, the new facility will be an outlet for automotive and agriculture equipment such as air compressors, pressure washers, battery rechargers, jacks and other related equipment.

"The Poplar Bluff store is off to a great start," said Jim Underhill, vice president of sales and marketing for Auto Tire & Parts. "We have talented store personnel and a great location to service the Poplar Bluff market."

Underhill, who was recently named to his position, added said a grand opening was held Aug. 24-29.
