CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. (AP) -- Authorities in the Missouri Bootheel continue to search for a 38-year-old man believed to have been swept away by the flooding Mississippi River.
Authorities in Pemiscot County have been searching since Monday for John Owens of Caruthersville. The Missouri Water Patrol is also involved in the search.
Officers began dragging operations on Thursday and are using side-scan sonar in an effort to locate the missing man.
The river crested about 8 feet above flood stage at Caruthersville on Friday.
