FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. -- A 3-year-old girl from Cape Girardeau died early Friday morning in a traffic accident on a Kentucky interstate. A news release from the Kentucky State Police said that the accident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. when two tractor trailer trucks collided near mile marker 53 on Interstate 64.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. -- A 3-year-old girl from Cape Girardeau died early Friday morning in a traffic accident on a Kentucky interstate. A news release from the Kentucky State Police said that the accident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. when two tractor trailer trucks collided near mile marker 53 on Interstate 64. The girl, identified by the Franklin County coroner's office as Andrea Weatherspoon, was traveling in a 2009 Volvo driven by her grandmother, Catherine Stults, 49, of Cape Girardeau. The driver of the other vehicle, a 2010 Peterbilt TT, was Timothy Williams, 45, of McLeansboro, Ill. The coroner's office said it would be two weeks before an autopsy result of Weatherspoon is released. Kentucky State Police said an investigation is ongoing.
