BUFFALO, Mo. -- Authorities are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a roadside ditch two days after her husband said she jumped from a moving car.

The husband of Sheila Ann Heath, 38, of rural Dallas County, told authorities his wife climbed through the car window Thursday during an argument, said Dallas County Sheriff Billie Blair.

The husband told authorities he stopped and looked for his wife but couldn't find her. He assumed she'd gotten a ride with a passing vehicle and left, Blair said.

The man said he resumed his search Saturday after his wife's boss stopped at his home and asked why she had missed work, Blair said. He told authorities he found her body and called 911.

An autopsy was conducted Monday. No charges have been filed in the case.
