ATTENTION MEATLOAF LOVERS!!; ENTRIES NEEDED FOR FIRST-EVER CONTEST SPONSORED BY SOUTHEAST MISSOURIAN

Fool-proof favorites, curious concoctions or meatless masterpieces -- all qualify for the Southeast Missourian's first ever meatloaf lovers contest.

Five finalists will each win a Southeast Missourian comic-strip umbrella. The top winner wins a 6-month subscription to the Missourian. In addition, finalists will be photographed and interviewed about their meatloaf masterpieces.

To enter, send your favorite meatloaf recipes by April 17 to Meatloaf Lovers' Contest, Southeast Missourian, P.O. Box 699, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63702-0699.

We'll pick the top five. These semi-finalists will bake up their loaves and bring them to the Southeast Missourian, 301 Broadway, on Saturday, May 4 to be judged by a panel of celebrities. (Okay, the judges will be Southeast Missourian writers and editors. We love meatloaf too.)

On May 5, the winner will be announced in the Southeast Missourian and photos of the top five cooks and their meatloaf masterpieces will be published along with as many of the submitted meatloaf recipes as possible.
