Mary Ann Farmer, president and chief executive officer of Magna-Tel Inc. in Cape Girardeau, attended the Specialty Advertising Association International's facilitator training workshop in Dallas, Texas. She was one of ten leaders in the specialty advertising field selected to attend this training program to improve their presentation skills.
After training is completed, each one volunteers to plan and present educational programs for other specialty advertising professionals at industry trade shows. Farmer has presented four time management workshops, two in Atlanta and two in Chicago, since the training session.
She earned a Certified Advertising Specialist designation after completing 70 hours of continuing education.
The SAAI is the only international trade association for the specialty advertising industry. It has more than 3,500 members.
Farmer has been president of Magna-Tel since 1987. The company, which is owned by Ken Hastings of Cape Girardeau, manufactures various magnetic advertising specialties. The company is located at 775 S. Kingshighway.
