SIKESTON, Mo. -- An early morning burglary went bust Sunday thanks to a concerned resident, Sikeston police reported.
Just after midnight Sunday morning, the Sikeston Department of Public Safety received a call in reference to broken glass outside My Sister's Closet, 417 S. Main St. Officers arrived at the scene and found subjects inside that store and Midwest Music in an adjacent building.
Capt. Dan Armour said there was one arrest at the scene and the investigation continues. All stolen merchandise from both businesses was recovered.
"The key here is concerned citizens getting involved and calling DPS when they see and hear something suspicious," Armour said.
Assisting the department in the investigation were the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Scott County Sheriff's Department and the K-9 Unit.
