It's Spring Cleanup Week in Jackson. The Southeast Missourian asked people for their ideas about city beautification.
Jane Boren: "It would be good for the city to have an additional pickup time for those items that are not ordinarily able to go into the trash. For spring cleaning purposes, at least a couple of times in the spring and then again in the fall.
Nick Barrett: "Pick up trash and get the junk out of people's yards. Also people should not let their dogs in the park go to the bathroom, unless they clean it up."
Kelly McLendon: "We could plant flowers and trees in the parks and in front of schools and public buildings. Also people could pick up trash in yards."
Paige Englehart: "You could mow lawns for people who are not able to get out. You could build more equipment in the park, like swings and slides."
Trey Busch: "I think they should make more parks and put more equipment and more picnic tables in places for people. They should plant more trees. Everyone should help keep the parks clean."
