The Southeast Missourian asked people what they thought of the new Jackson City Library which moved last week into the new City Hall.

John Harshaw: "I like the location. It's comfortable. You don't hear the echo like in the other building. It should be quieter by having the reading area separate from the research area."

Terry Williams: "I think people will be able to read in a little more peaceful atmosphere on the upstairs floor, and the elevator is real nice. Downstairs is a little cramped. The parking lot will be real handy."

Lucas McIntosh: "It's cool. The books are pretty easy to find. I like to read and I check out lots of books. I think it's as good as the other building was.

Mary Beth Williams: "I think it looks great. It's a little crowded downstairs, but it's workable. The upstairs area should be quiet and will be a good place for students to study or for adults to use as a reading room."

Linda Kremer: "I think it's pretty nice. We come to the library a lot. It's in a good location with it being in the middle of town, so that high school students can walk to the library after school."
