The Southeast Missourian asked students at Orchard Drive Elementary School about their parents' occupations in honor of Labor Day.
Amelia Sherinski: "My dad is a horticulturist. He helps others by helping their plants stay alive, and telling them they have mites and stuff like that."
Jamie Maschmeier: "My mother's job as a banker is important. She cashes checks for people, so they can spend their money."
Earl Popp: "My father's job is to take pictures of houses. He tries to sell the house to people that want to find a new house to live in."
Tiffany Storz: "My grandpa's job as a trucker is important because he drops off loads of stuff all over the United States, like food and metal."
David Gholson: "My father's job as a mechanic is important because he helps people if their truck breaks down."
