The Southeast Missourian asked people how they are keeping cool this summer.
Chris Kohm: "I've been going swimming and trying to find some clothes that aren't as hot. I try to stay busy outside and just use a lot of sunscreen. I also drink a lot of water."
Jason Bandermann: "I'm outside a lot, so I drink a lot of water. I try to work in the shade as much as possible. I go swimming in the creeks around here. It's cooler when you can get down in the water."
David Bierer: "You just have to deal with it and try to find a shady spot. The main thing is that I am used to the heat. After working outdoors all day, I go to classes at the university where it's cool."
Mike Martin: "I bring cold water with me wherever I go. I freeze it overnight in a small cooler, so it melts through the day and stays cold. After work I go to where it's air-conditioned."
Janet Grabau: "I just wear cooler clothes and stay inside as much as I can. I went hiking Sunday and I drank a lot of water. Then I got into air conditioning. I used to live in Joplin and it's more humid here."
