With astronaut John Glenn orbiting Earth in the shuttle Discovery, the Southeast Missourian asked fifth-grade students at West Lane Elementary School about the future of space exploration.

Caleb Tankersley: "I think we should focus on sending out more cameras in space. I also think we should learn a lot more about the moon and send people of different ages there."

Hannah Kohm: "I think we should go to the moon again. The moon might not be that interesting, but it might help in going to Mars by going to the moon first."

Caitlin Bollinger: "I think we should go back to the moon, because there is a lot more stuff that we can learn there. Maybe a station set up on the moon would be a good idea."

Erica Bock: "I think that we should go back to the moon. We could see if people could really live on the moon for a while. There is a lot more we could explore on the moon."

Josh Johnson: "I think we should go to Mars, because we have already been to the moon. We could see what Mars is made of and if there was ever any life there."
