The Southeast Missourian asked students at West Lane Elementary School about their experiences in a hospital operating room.
Cole Jansen: "I had some sinus surgery. My sinuses were clogged up, so I had an operation where they put cotton balls up my nose. It has helped a lot."
Alex Mouser: "My tonsils were enlarged, so I had my tonsils and adenoids taken out a few months ago. I was in the hospital for one day. I can breathe a lot better and eat more now."
Mark Green: "I slipped and fell off dad's truck and split my head open on the gravel. I went to the hospital, and they sewed my head together. It was seven years ago when I was four."
Heather Holifield: "I got bit on the neck by a pit bull when I was four. An ambulance took me to hospital. I had passed out and woke up after surgery. All I remember is that I got out the same day."
Cameron Heath: "I got hit in the head with a tree that my dad was pulling behind his truck about two years ago. I got 32 stitches in my forehead and missed four days of school."
