ART GUILD WILL MEET TUESDAY

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- A Visual Artists Guild, being formed by the Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts, will meet March 19 at 1:30 p.m. and at 7 p.m. at Gallery 100, 100 Broadway.

Artists and interested persons are welcome to attend.

"There hasn't been a Visual Artists Guild in this area for several years, since the Creative Artists Guild disbanded," said Beverly Strohmeyer, executive director of the arts council.

Artists will meet for lectures, demonstrations and workshops.

Several artists have requested workshops such as how to take slides of artwork for entering juried shows and presentation techniques like matting and hanging. Technical workshops by well-known professional artists are also requested.

The meetings will be organizational, covering topics such as preferred meeting dates, suggested programs and workshops.
