Original paintings, crafts and other creations by people affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse will be exhibited in the Danforth Community Room of the Clara Drinkwater Newman Library, 1-5 E. Marshall St., from Monday through July 31 as part of the Missouri Department of Mental Health's director's creativity showcase.

The library is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

Entries were created either as part of therapy or as recreation by people receiving services for mental illness, developmental disability or substance abuse. The artists represent a wide range of ages and abilities.
