SIKESTON, Mo. -- Arson is suspected in a vehicle fire that occurred late Tuesday.
At 11:53 p.m., the Sikeston Department of Public Safety was alerted to a vehicle fire at 1317 Shelby Ave. The owner reported it was parked in the driveway and a neighbor alerted her to the blaze because she was asleep at the time.
After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters investigating found that gasoline had been poured over the top rear of the car and suspected the fire was set intentionally.
No one was hurt in the incident, and there are not any suspects as of press time. Anyone with information is encouraged to call DPS, 471-6200.
