Bootheel man arrested for statutory rape
CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- A Pemiscot County man was arrested for the alleged statutory rape of a 15-year-old girl, Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department Lt. Ryan Holder said Tuesday. Johnnie R. Greenway, 22, of Caruthersville confessed to the alleged crimes and was charged with two counts of second-degree statutory rape as the result of an investigation by the Caruthersville Police Department and the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department, Holder said. He also said Pemiscot County deputies arrested Jason D. Moody, 17, of Holland, Mo., in connection with the Saturday theft of a chain saw from a shop building at Holland. Moody was charged with second-degree burglary, trespassing, possessing stolen property, possessing up to 35 grams of marijuana and possessing or advertising imitation drugs. Deputies seized items stolen in previous burglaries, and additional charged are expected to be filed against Moody and others. Moody was arraigned Monday in Pemiscot County Circuit Court before Judge Byron Luber and was in police custody at the Pemiscot County Justice Center at Caruthersville in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Sikeston robberies under investigation
SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston Department of Public Safety is investigating two unrelated robberies that occurred Friday. The first was an armed robbery reported at about 3:14 a.m. at Jay's Taxi, 111 N. Kingshighway. According to the report, a man wearing a brown coat with a hood entered the office armed with knife and asked the dispatcher for money. The suspect reportedly fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. The second incident was a strong-armed robbery reported at 11:13 p.m. when an employee of Buffalo Wild Wings, 231 North Main St., was robbed after leaving the business by a man in his late teens or early 20s. An undetermined amount of cash was taken. No weapon was reportedly involved.
