Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery late Wednesday night on Olive Street in Cape Girardeau. Two people told police they were walking on Olive Street near Slinger's Nightclub, 820 N. Sprigg St., about 11:55 p.m. Wednesday when a man came up behind them, holding a gun, and demanded money, a Cape Girardeau police spokesman said in an email Thursday. The victims told the man they did not have any money. After continuing to demand money and threatening them with the gun, the man fled on foot, reported Darin Hickey, public information officer for the Cape Girardeau Police Department. No one had been arrested, and the case remained under investigation Thursday, Hickey said.
