Three men wearing ski masks on Sunday afternoon robbed the Amerimart convenience store in Old Appleton of money, beer and cigarettes, the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department reported.
The department received a call at about 5:30 p.m. reporting the robbery. The clerk reported that the three men wore dark clothing along with the masks and displayed a handgun when they demanded cash, the department said. The men fled westbound on Route KK in a full-size dark-colored pickup truck, possibly blue, the department said.
No arrests had been made by mid-morning Monday, said Lt. David James of the sheriff's department. The investigation was continuing with the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The Amerimart is located at the intersection of U.S. 61 and Route KK.
