Two Arkansas residents were injured this morning in a two-car accident on Interstate 55, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports website.

The accident occurred five miles north of Fruitland at around 6 a.m. as a 2008 GMC pickup driven by Henry L. Nicley, 35, of Paragould, Ark., rear-ended a 1998 Volvo conventional tractor driven by Michael Szkaradzinski, 60, of McHenry, Ill. The GMC was totaled while the Volvo sustained minor damage.

Henry and Edward B. Gilbee, 39, of Marmaduke, Ark., who was a passenger in the GMC, were taken by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Gilbee was treated for moderate injuries and Nicley for serious injuries.
