BRANSON, Mo. (AP) -- Police on Wednesday asked prosecutors to charge a 52-year-old Little Rock, Ark., man with the July 19 stabbing death of another Arkansas man at a Branson motel.
Dewayne Anthony Lynn, 48, of Harrison, Ark., was found outside the office of the Crescent Court Motel with a stab wound to his shoulder that severed a main artery. He died of the wound after being taken to a hospital.
Branson Police Chief Caroll McCullough said a suspect was taken into custody on July 22 in Boone County, Ark., on a drunken-driving charge and remains in jail there.
McCullough said he sent the investigation file to the Taney County prosecutor early Wednesday with a request for charges of second-degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. The suspect has not been named pending charges.
Lynn's death was the first killing this year in the resort town and only the third since 2000, according to crime statistics maintained by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
