BENTON, Mo. -- A woman is charged with domestic assault after biting and hitting her alleged victim.
Jacqueline Mays, 26, of rural Sikeston, Missouri, is charged with second-degree domestic assault and driving while revoked, Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reported.
About 6:46 p.m. Friday, the sheriff's office received a report of a disturbance in progress at a home off Route Z. When deputy Danny Finley responded to the scene, he was told the suspect had fled.
Finley spotted the suspect's vehicle on Route Y, when he conducted a traffic stop and determined Mays' driving status was revoked.
The victim in the assault had visible injuries, according to a news release from the sheriff's department. The victim told Sgt. Brant Pratt he was struck in the head numerous times and bitten on his ear.
Mays posted a $2,500 bond and was released from custody.
