Jackson High School--
Valedictorian: Jamie Dost of Jackson, 18, daughter of Gary and Sheri Dost. Recieved 2000 Missouri Award for Outstanding Achievement in Citizenship, Bright Flight Scholarship. Was active in Student Council, FBLA, HI-STEP, Teen Spirit, and Vice President of her class. Will attend the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Salutatorian: Michael B. Williams of Jackson, 18, son of Fred and Charlene Williams. Named one of Missouri's top 100 students his senior year, was active in FBLA and was captain of the Scholar Bowl team. Michael plans to attend the University of Chicago.
Leopold High School--
Valedictorian: Gwen Vandeven of Leopold, 18, daughter of Roger and Sheryl Vandeven. Gwen recieved the Curator's Freshman Scholarship from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Bright Flight Scholarship, the Della Mabel Wright Scholarship, the Southeast Missouri State University Governor's Scholarship, and will attend the University of Missouri-Columbia in the fall.
Salutatorian: Jason Van de Ven of Leopold, 18, son of Roy and Sharon Van de Ven. Recieved the University of Missouri-Columbia Columns Scholarship, the Southeast Missouri State University President's Scholarship, the SEMO Missouri Leadership Award, the Biokyowa Scholarship, and a partial scholarship from the Missouri Association for Mutual Insurance Companies -- Gordonville Mutual Insurance Co.
Meadow Heights High School--
(Tie for Valedictorian, no salutatorian)
Valedictorians: George Brooks Whitlow of Patton, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Whitlow. George recieved the Meadow Heights Booster Club Scholarship, the CTA Scholarship, the Trevecca Nazarene University Presidential Scholarship, the Special Enrollment Management Scholarship from Trevecca and the Endowment Scholarship from Trevecca. George will attend Trevecca Nazarene in the fall.
Heather Wissore of Marquand, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wissore. Heather recieved a Booster Club Scholarship, the Security Bank Scholarship, the Southwest Baptist University Provost Scholarship, the Southwest Baptist Flute Scholarship and the Southwest Baptist Vocal Scholarship. She will attend Southwest Baptist University in the fall.
Woodland High School--
Valedictorian: Julia Cutsinger of Glenallen, 18, daughter of Walter and Beverly Cutsinger. Julia recieved the Southeast Missouri State University Regents Scholarship and will attend SEMO in the fall.
Salutatorian: (tie) Dana Gillen of Marble Hill, 17, daughter of Mary Gillen, recieved the Woodland PTO Scholarship and the Southeast Missouri State University Regents Scholarship. She will attend SEMO.
Melanie Willis of Marble Hill, 18, daughter of Marlee Willis, recieved the Bright Flight Scholarship and the University of Columbia Curator's Scholarship.
Oak Ridge High School--
Valedictorian: Kristie Reid of Oak Ridge, 18, daughter of Hazel and Larry Reid, recieved the Southern Illinois University Academic Scholarship and the Athletic Booster Scholarship. She will attend the Southern Illinois University in the fall and major in Business and Administration.
Salutatorian: Dusty Statler of Oak Ridge, 18, son of Randy and Sherri Statler. Dusty recieved the President's Scholarship, Boy State Scholarship and Leadership Scholarship and will attend Southeast Missouri State University in the fall.
