A number of area girls attended Missouri Girls State June 20-26 on the campus of William Woods College in Fulton.
The American Legion Auxiliary sponsors the event which promotes citizenship and teaches about the American form of government.
Among those attending are:
Natalie Skinner, daughter of Roger and Joanie Skinner, attends Cape Girardeau Central High School. She is also a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Young Life. She is a member of Beta Club and is listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students. Skinner runs cross country and is a member of the track team. She is in Let terman's Club and Pep Club and plays on a recreational soccer team.
Amanda Allmon, daughter of Roger and Linda Allmon, attends Jackson High School. She is a member of National Honor Society, Student Council, FBLA and speech team. She is a three year varsity letterman in softball, student body vice president, a peer tutor and helper, a member of the yearbook staff and a twirler in the marching band.
LaShea Bohannon, daughter of Gary and Susie Bohannon, attends Kelly High School at Benton. She is a member of the Kelly Flag Corps, the band, Beta Club, FHA, Student Council, SADD and the St. Denis CYC. She was also Region 6 second vice president in FHA and is listed on the honor roll.
Marsha Bollinger, daughter of David and Sheila Bollinger, is a student at Kelly High School at Benton. She is president of the Beta Club, a member of SADD, Pep Club, band, flag corps, Future Homemakers of America, Future Business Leaders of America, basketball and FHA Parliamentary Procedure team. She is also listed on the honor roll.
