Cassie Gross, daughter of Chris and Debbie Gross, is active in varsity basketball, FBLA, FCA, FCCLA, Model UN, speech and debate, National Honor Society, community service and Young Life. She is an A honor roll student at Cape Central High School and was sponsored by the Excelsior Optimist Club of Cape Girardeau.
Katie Dougherty, daughter of Mike and Kandy Dougherty, is a 3-year returning letterman for Cape Central's varsity basketball team and served as team captain for the 1999-2000 season. She is also a returning first baseman for Central's softball team. She participates in FCCLA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Spanish Club and Young Life. Her sponsor was the Kiwanis Club of Cape Girardeau.
Amber Elfrink, Notre Dame student, is a member of the National Honor Society, attended the Chemistry Bowl at Southeast Missouri State University, represented Notre Dame at the State Youth in Government Day at Jefferson City, Mo., and was selected to act as City Manager in the local Youth in Government Day. She also participates in Student Council, various sports and is active in church groups.
Lindsay Bohnert, daughter of Bill and Carolyn Bohnert, has been involved in both Girl Scouting and ice skating or the past 12 years. Her girl scout troop is working toward its Gold Award. She is a member of the National Honor Society, is active in Concert Choir, Projects and Spirit Club as well as being a Notre Dame varsity cheerleader. She was named a Top 10 Merit Finalist at the 1999 Miss Teen of Missouri Scholarship and Recognition Program at Jefferson City, Mo. She was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cape Girardeau.
Jill Eichhorn, daughter of Butch and Connie Eichhorn, is a member of Concert Choir and serves on the Student Campus Ministry Board at Notre Dame. She is a member of the National Honor Society, runs on the cross country team and was chosen to represent Notre Dame at the Missouri Leadership in Practice conference. She has attended two youth mission trips with the St. Vincent dePaul Youth Group and also serves as a youth lector. She was sponsored by the Noon Optimist Club.
Alyssa Lee Holyfield, daughter of Butch and Vickie Holyfield, is involved in Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Family Career and Community Leaders of America and Student Senate. She is also a leader for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, plays on the softball team and is Central High School girls' basketball team statistician. She is a part-time employee for the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department and is active in Younglife and her youth group at Grace United Methodist Church. She was sponsored by the Noon Optimist Club of Cape Girardeau.
Representing Jackson High School were Sarah Propst, daughter of Nancy and Jay Propst; Kendra Hinkebein, daughter of Tom and Sharon Hinkebein; and Laura Wissehr, daughter of Cathy Wissehr. Kelly High School was represented by Amy Dirnberger, daughter of Herbert and Cindy Dirnberger.
