The Victorian era will be the theme for the Friends of Steam Railroading, the Jackson Heritage Association and the Capaha Antique Car Club Sept. 10-11.
All three not-for-profit organizations are planning events that will bring details and various aspects of the era to life.
Friends of Steam Railroading, a support group to the St. Louis Iron Mountain Railway, will host two Victorian events.
Passengers will be treated to tea time Sept. 10 aboard the historic train. As the train traverses the countryside, a history of tea will be related and special blends of herbal teas will be sampled. Trains are scheduled to depart at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Trisha's Bed & Breakfast will present vintage collections from the Victorian era on Saturday evening. Trishia will also host a fashion show on the 6 p.m. dinner train.
One of the highlights of the Victorian weekend will be a driving tour, hosted by the Jackson Heritage Association. On Sunday afternoon at 12:30, the Capaha Antique Car Club will shuttle passengers to and from five historic sites in Jackson and the surrounding area.
The third annual event will feature a German theme with history, displays and food offered throughout the afternoon.
A picnic setting in an apple orchard, a trip to Bollinger mill, a tour of the courthouse, a steam train ride, and a tour of the Oliver House are just a few events scheduled.
For more information and tickets call Trishia's Bed & Breakfast at 243-7427, the train at 243-1688, or the Glenn House at 334-1177.
