CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Two Charleston men are in custody after a drug distribution investigation by the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department.
Demitiours Andre Moore, 40, and Myron Lamont Andrews, 18, each are charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a felony punishable on conviction by five to 15 years in prison.
Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore said the investigation began last week, when Deputy Cory Hutcheson learned methamphetamine was being distributed from a Charleston home.
Moore placed the residence under surveillance, and deputies soon noticed a steady flow of traffic to the house.
Through their observations and interviews of people familiar with the residence, Moore and Hutcheson developed probable cause to believe weapons and illegal narcotics were being stored inside. Hutcheson obtained a search warrant on the Cleveland Street home occupied by Moore and Myron Andrews.
The search warrant was served Tuesday by the sheriff's department and East Prairie, Missouri, Police Department. During the search, Mississippi County deputies seized cash, a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine, weapons and ammunition.
Moore and Andrews were placed under arrest and transported to the Mississippi County Detention Center.
