CHAFFEE, Mo. -- A Chaffee man faces several sexual assault and child molestation charges involving adolescent victims.
Charles N. Rogers, 60, 922 Nunn Road in Chaffee was charged Friday with eight counts of statutory rape and 10 counts of statutory sodomy for allegations of incidents dating back to 2003.
According to a probable-cause statement written and signed by Sgt. P.E. Gregory of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, one of Rogers' child victims described the sexual abuse during a recent forensic interview at the Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence.
A few days later, NASV interviewed another victim, who said she was molested by Rogers during the 2006-2007 school year. She said after he molested her, Rogers gave her $20 to "spend at the mall," the statement said.
In 1981, Rogers pleaded guilty to sodomy in Cape Girardeau County, according to the sworn statement.
The offenses, involving at least three victims, took place between 1998 and January 2008, according to the sworn statement.
Bond for Rogers was set at $150,000 cash only.
