An area defense lawyer charged in the February assault of his fiancee will wait two more months before his case is heard before a Cape Girardeau County jury.
Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Robert Wilkins, specially assigned to the case, rescheduled Scott Reynolds' trial for Oct 13 to 14. It was originally set to begin today.
Reynolds, 47, is accused of punching and kicking Jacqueline Carter on Feb. 17 at his home in Jackson. The incident allegedly occurred after the couple had an argument.
He's charged with felony armed criminal action, first- and second-degree domestic assault, child endangerment and possession of marijuana.
Carter testified at a preliminary hearing Reynolds held an unloaded pistol to her head and pulled the trigger five times. She said she didn't know if the gun was loaded before he pulled the trigger.
The entire alleged incident took place in front of Carter's daughter, who was 6 at the time.
On July 30, Wilkins amended one of Reynolds' bond conditions, no longer requiring he wear a GPS monitoring system 24 hours a day.
Reynolds has been able to maintain his practice since his March 17 release from jail.
