JACKSON - The Board of Directors of the Cape Girardeau Area Industrial Recruitment Association Monday gave final approval to a contract with its new executive director.
The one-year contract with D. Mitch Robinson of Henderson, Ky., calls for an annual salary of $43,500. Robinson will begin his duties May 24.
At a 15-minute meeting, the board discussed details of getting the association's office established in the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce Building. Several members accepted responsibilities for securing equipment and telephone lines for the office. Robinson will begin interviewing a secretary, who will be hired by the board.
Cape Girardeau Mayor Gene Rhodes, president of the association board, said: "Everybody is cooperating, working together for the good of our area. I want to compliment all of you."
The board also agreed to schedule a reception for Robinson on the afternoon of May 24.
