The city of Jackson and area Girl Scouts will host the a~nnual Festival of Lights on Monday, Nov. 30. The courthouse ~~will be blanketed ~in luminaries from 6 to 7 p.m.. Each year the area Gi~rl Scout Se~rvice Unit hosts this event after Thanksg~iving to spread holida~y cheer to the communit~y.

The girls provide cookies and treats e~veryone to some special Christmas caroling. Coffee, provid~ed ~by Burger King, along ~with hot cocoa is served at the gazebo. Santa Land, pro~vided by the ~city, will be open for the little ones to visit and receive a special treat made ~by some of the girls.

Santa comes courtesy of the Jackson Merchants Association. The event is free and the p~ublic is invited to attend and share ~in the holiday f~un. There will be a registration table set up for those girls interested in registering for Girl Scouts.

Gi~rl Scouts ~will be helping collect a~gain this ~year for the E~lk's C~hristmas bas~kets. Everyone~ is asked to bring ne~w items to donate that night for boys and g~irls.
