Joshua R. Davis received the Eagle Scout award at a court of honor held recently. This award is achieved by less than 3 percent of boys who begin Scouting.
Davis began his Scouting career in 1993 as a Tiger Cub. He became a Boy Scout in 1998. Elected to the Order of the Arrow in 1999, he became a Vigil Honor member this past August.
He has been active in American Indian activities, winning a number of awards for dance and craftwork. He has also served in a number of leadership positions in Troop 311 and the Order of the Arrow.
Davis' community service project for attaining his Eagle Scout rank was the planning and construction of a footbridge, 15 feet long, located along the walking trail of Lake Tywappity in Chaffee, Mo. Davis oversaw the construction, which required more than 100 hours of labor and the involvement of 14 Boy Scouts.
Davis is a Jackson High School senior active in clubs and activities. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Davis of Jackson.
