ARC to offer college scholarship

The Stoddard County Association for Retarded Citizens is sponsoring a scholarship for any Stoddard County High School graduate or GED holder pursuing a career or training in any mentally retarded/developmentally disabled (MR/DD) field. They will be publicizing this scholarship through an article in this newspaper, ARC's newsletter, distributing to all Stoddard County High Schools, and to area Missouri colleges.

This scholarship, in the amount of $1,000, is available for two semesters ($500 per-semester) and is dependent upon the following criteria:

* recipient pursuing a degree in Special Education or related field of study

* recipient taking a minimum of twelve hours per semester

* recipient maintaining a "B" (3.0) average

* recipient being a resident of Stoddard County.

Applications can be picked up at the ARC office at 1318 West Grant, or at your local Stoddard County school. Interested applicants should complete an application and mail it to the address at the bottom of the application, or dropped off at the ARC office. It should be postmarked no later than July 1, 2015.
