The Rev. Eldon McKie will speak at the annual Third Sunday in May service at the Apple Creek Presbyterian Church Service at 11 a.m. Sunday. The service will be followed with a basket dinner on the grounds.
McKie is a semi-retired pastor who was raised in North-central Illinois and attended the University of Illinois. He also attended McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and was pastor at Grand Ridge and Arlington Heights in Illinois before moving into the St. Louis area.
He has served as pastor at the Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church, Second Presbyterian Church, and Carondolet-Markhamn Presbyterian Church and works on two Presbytery committees: evangelism and church development and the committee on mission strategy and evaluation.
McKie lives in Kirkwood with his wife, Kathryn, and near his two daughters, two sons-in-law and two grandchildren.
During the service, Carolyn Thompson will play the church's original pump organ.
