A one-hour "We Love Cape Rally" will be held Wednesday on the terraces of Southeast Missouri State University.
The event, sponsored by Students Against Riverboat Gambling, Citizens Against Riverboat Gambling and several campus organizations, will begin at 11:30 a.m.
From 11:45 until noon, students will speak on the stage at the terraces.
Organizers said the purpose of the rally is to present students with a positive image of the community, to share information about the consequences of gambling, and to encourage students to register and vote Nov. 2.
As students pass from classes at the noon hour, they will be offered free hot dogs and lemonade and a fact sheet about gambling. The event is open to the public. For additional information contact Andy Pratt at 335-6489 or Hamner Hill at 651-2186.
