Jackson residents hoping to dispose of old appliances and oversized materials will have their chance during the annual Clean-up/Fix-up Week in July.
Scheduled from July 12 to 19, the week will allow residents to add up extra items to dispose during their normal trash pickup. The usual three-bag limit will not be enforced during this time.
Items must be placed on the curb for collection, though tires, motor oil or other hazardous material will not be collected. The city will take one old appliance at no charge and additional appliance for $10 each. Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners must be gas-free and have the compressors and doors removed.
For more information, call the Jackson public works department at 243-2300.
