The Home Tour sponsored by the Altenburg Homemakers Club will be held Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The homes are located in the beautiful rolling hills of East Perry County.
Five homes on tour range from two built at the turn of the century to two new homes. Homes include the Robert Bachmann home in Frohna, the Gary Sachs home, the Kenny Schirmer home, the Gary Repp home, all in Altenburg, and the Dale Roth home, on Route A east of Altenburg. Homes will feature fall and Christmas decor.
Visitors may experience the culture and history of historic East Perry County, including the first Lutheran college, which dates to December 1839.
Also of interest are Trinity Lutheran Church and its museum in Altenburg, as well as the Saxon Lutheran Memorial. The memorial is a log cabin village in Frohna, and is now home of the Rev. C. F. W. Walther statue, placed there in August 1999.
Tour guides will be available at each place. Tickets may be purchased at Altenburg Hardware, Gas-A-Mat, Tric's Restaurant, from members of the club, as well as at the Craft Fair that same day, which will be held at the Trinity Lutheran School in Altenburg.
