ANNA -- Only 10 names will be found on the primary election ballot here Tuesday. Eight of the 10, all candidates for Anna City Commission seats, will advance to the April 4 general election, but voters are reminded to vote for only four. ANNA -- Only 10 names will be found on the primary election ballot here Tuesday.

Eight of the 10, all candidates for Anna City Commission seats, will advance to the April 4 general election, but voters are reminded to vote for only four.

Candidates include four incumbents, Lawrence Boyer, David Tellor, Glenn Rosson and Roy "Ras" Dillon. Other candidates are Alan Roberts, Betty Plott, Allen James, Don Tripp, Elbert Gee and Robin Dillow.

Tellor, maintenance superintendent for Union County Housing Authority, has served on the commission 10 years, the last eight as commissioner of finance and assistant mayor.

Dillow is an eight-year incumbent, and is seeking his third term on the commission. Dillow is retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Rosson is also finishing up his second term as city commissioner. He is retired from electrical construction work and is currently serving as bailiff at the Union County Court.

Boyer, a retired police chief, is completing his first term as commissioner. He was in charge of the cemetery, park, pool and the waste water plant during his first term.

Robin Dillon, owner-operator of Southern Manor Inc., served two terms as precinct committeeman and three terms as sheriff of Union County.

Roberts, graduate of Anna-Jonesboro and Shawnee Community College, attended Southern Illinois University and Southeast Missouri State University.

Plott is retired from the business office of Union County Hospital in Anna.

James is currently attending the SIU-Carbondale School of Law. He is a graduate of University of Missouri-Rolla and is a licensed professional engineer. He served as civil engineer with the Illinois Department of Transportation for 10 years.

Tripp, employed as plant maintenance engineer at Choate Mental Health and Development Center, has served on the Anna-Jonesboro School Board and Union County Hospital Board.

Gee, a mental health technician II at Choate Mental Health and Development Center served two terms as precinct committeeman.
