ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Some wholesale distributors of Anheuser-Busch products are worried about a backlash now that the St. Louis-based brewery is being sold to Belgian-based InBev.
The distributors voiced their concerns on Wednesday during a conference call with the CEOs of Anheuser-Busch and InBev.
Some beer drinkers are telling distributors they want to use American products. But InBev CEO Carlos Brito says research shows there will not be a change in buying behavior as a result of a change of ownership.
The purchase was announced late Sunday, more than a month after InBev first announced its intention to buy the maker of Budweiser and Bud Light.
