AmeriFirst Bank of Cape Girardeau, which has been operating in a temporary facility at the intersection of Kingshighway and Independence, will open Monday in its new building at 3060 Route K.
Paul Ebaugh, president of the bank, announced the move this week.
"We invite everyone to stop by and see our new facility,' said Ebaugh. "The new facility shows the commitment that our stockholders and directors are making in establishing a truly home-grown bank for Cape Girardeau."
AmeriFirst Bank opened in May of 1990, following approval for a bank charter by the Missouri Division of Finance.
The bank started with a capitalization of $4 million, with Lehman Finch of Cape Girardeau as chairman of the board and Ebaugh as president. Other directors include Harry Rust, D. L. Harrison, and Marty Hecht, all of Cape Girardeau; Charles L. Drury of Kelso and St. Louis; Larry Dunger of Scott City; and Richard Adams, Robert S. Matthews Sr., and Robert Scott Matthews Jr., all of Sikeston.
Groundbreaking for the new bank building, a 12,000-square-foot, two-story structure, was held July 26, 1990.
"The new facility will feature full-service banking with complete deposit and loan services," said a spokesman of the bank. "We closed the temporary facility at noon Saturday. We're really excited about getting into our new building."
