"American Pickers" is coming to Missouri.

The popular History Channel documentary series follows antiques experts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz as they who hunt for valuable antiques in private collections throughout the country, "transforming one person's trash into another's treasure," according to the show's website.

Tamar Herman, casting associate for "American Pickers," said the show will travel throughout Missouri, but "we don't know specific towns yet."

The show's producers are looking for leads in the area to determine their route and hope Southeast Missouri will have many great "picking" opportunities.

The "American Pickers" casting crew is seeking private collections -- not flea markets or retail shops -- they can search through, potentially discovering valuable items hidden amid the clutter.

They are seeking "characters with interesting and unique items," according to a news release from Cineflix, the company that produces American Pickers. Herman said "the collection is key," but they hope to find unique personalities with interesting tales to tell as well.

Items they look for include vintage bicycles, toys, unusual radios, movie memorabilia, advertising, military items, vintage musical equipment and automotive items.

People who are interested in being considered for the show should email their contact information and a description and photos of their collection to americanpickers@cineflix.com. Interested parties also can call (855) 654-7878.
