AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION

The American Lung Association sponsors a number of activities aimed at better breathing.

The association sponsors Camp Superkids each year for children ages 8 to 14 with asthma.

The one-week camp is held in Potosi for children from all over eastern Missouri. The local association sponsors local children to attend.

The association also offers smoking cessation programs, programs on indoor and outdoor air pollution, and sponsors Better Breathers clubs for anyone with respiratory diseases. The Smoke Free Class of 2000 is also a project of the association.

A lot of the organization's work is educational. Susan McClanahan is the regional director of the association.
