AMERICAN FAMILY OPENS TWO NEW BRANCHES IN CAPE

Stan Popp has retired from the insurance business after more than 40 years.

Popp started his career with America Family Insurance in March 1957. During the past 43 years, he has operated the agency in five locations, starting at 720 Good Hope. The office move from Good Hope to 205 S. Spring, to 215 S. Plaza Way, 67 Plaza Way and in the current location, at 77 Plaza Way.

With Popp retiring, his office is being split into two new insurance branches:

• Laurel Adkisson, who has been in the banking industry the past seven years, will open at Eagle Peak Office Building, 760 S. Kingshighway later this month. She will work out of the 77 Plaza Way address through most of the month.
• Rob Dohogne, who has been in the insurance business more than seven years, will retain the current Popp office at 77 S. Plaza Way. Pat Eftink will remain at the Plaza Way location as office manager.

Adkisson most recently served as branch manager of Commerce Bank's main banking center in Cape Girardeau. Adkisson had joined the bank in 1992 as a financial service representative, and was named financial services officer in 1996. Adkisson, a graduate of East Prairie High School and Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in marketing-management, previously served as marketing coordinator for the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau. She worked six years in sales management with the Holiday Inn in Cape Girardeau.

In 1996, she was named to the list of "Ten Outstanding Young Missourians," by the Missouri Jaycees. She is also a recipient of the Commerce Bank Commendation for Community Service.

Dohogne has worked in the insurance business seven years. He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, with a degree in business administration.
